Introducing Sandboxie: a complete testbed solution

Sandboxie Control

Sandboxie is an all-in one solution to trying out stuff on your computer that you don’t trust at all.  It is a brilliant idea, because it basically acts as a middleman between your PC and any programs and applications that are running on it, and it runs them inside a restricted environment, while still allowing regular interaction with the operating system.

This is a definite alternative to the virtual machine I have been using for years, and I’ll probably switch over due to the speed of not having to emulate a whole computer.

A brilliant idea overall!

    Hey connor, I am surprised you just heard about this, it is great software and everyone who uses WinXP should have it to try and prevent viruses. Too bad it does not work on Vista 64 bit because all the drivers must be signed. The driver that ensures control of the files does not work. LOL Windows… microsoft still didn’t master it.

    Hmmm…looks very interesting!
    It still doesn’t completely protect you from viruses and trojans (nothing can), but if you want to meddle with that kinda stuff…it looks like this is the tool! Thanks for the post!

    Could you do a post on the issue of USB keys (aka usb flash drives and whatnot) on how easy it is to transport and get viruses from them and put viruses on others computers.
